Q Is the fruit Australian grown?
A Yes. Most of the fruit is source from the Goulburn Valley If not, the fruit comes from regions where the variety is plentiful (E.g. citrus fruit from Mildura)

Q How much does it cost to participate on the Kids & Fruit program?
A The cost of the program is based on the price per piece of fruit. Kids & Fruit welcomes the opportunity to discuss the pricing structure with your school. There are no hidden costs.
   
Q How do we pay for the fruit?
A Kids & Fruit invoices schools twice a term. The school is then able to invoice parents if it chooses to do so.
   
Q I’ve heard that the majority of fruit supplied on the Kids & Fruit
program are apples and pears, is this right?
A No. The Kids & Fruit program includes a vast range of fruit, including exotic fruit and fruit not readily available anywhere else. The most popular fruit provided on the Kids & Fruit program are stone fruit (eg. white peaches, nectarines and Pluots), kiwi fruit, nashi pears, cherries and grapes. During the colder months, schools are provided with SPC Fruit tubs.
   
Q Do we have to sign a ‘locked-In’ contract if our school wishes to join
the Kids & Fruit program?
A No. Schools are under no obligation to sign a ‘locked In’ contract. Kids & Fruit understands that school curricula can change and therefore needs to remain flexible to any changes schools require to the program.
   
Q Can Kids & Fruit provide fruit when our school has special sports days,
and for our Breakfast or Active After School Care program?
A Yes absolutely. If your school requires additional fruit for other activities or programs your school has Kids & Fruit will be more than happy to assist. In fact, Kids & Fruit would be happy to discuss providing the fruit.
   
Q Can the school staff receive fruit from Kids & Fruit as well?
A Yes absolutely, In fact, Kids & Fruit believe it is incredibly important that the teachers enjoy the fruit with their students that Kids & Fruit provides them with fruit.
   
Q What if some of the students do not like a particular fruit?
A If your child does not like a particular piece of fruit, all you need to do is let Kids & Fruit know and we will substitute accordingly. Kids & Fruit is also very sensitive to the fact children may suffer particular allergies to fruit (eg. citrus fruit) and will accommodate accordingly.
   
Q What type of pesticides and fertilisers are used to grow the fruit?
A Mostly organic pesticides and fertilisers, which are harmless to people.
   
Q What if the students want to have two pieces of fruit a day?
A That is fine, as long as the school is aware of the extra cost as the program is priced per piece of fruit.
